Statement

Michael Murray and Victoria Jane Cooper co-founded the Umbrella Arts Group (Umbrella) in June 2001.  Umbrella is a non-profit organization based in Cardiff with a growing database of new contemporary artists.

Umbrella members constantly give up their own free time, to organize independent one-off art events in alternative venues.   Normally a weeklong, each event aims to raise the profile of emerging contemporary artists making new work, in new contexts.   It is thanks to the conscientious attitudes and hard work of our members that Umbrella thrives today.
